Infrared Membership Terms and Conditions

1. Access

Sportsól provides the subscriber with access to an Infrared Membership Card for which the subscriber is currently paying.
The membership is valid exclusively for infrared beds and does not include access to traditional tanning beds or other Sportsól services.

2. Use

Sportsól grants the subscriber access to infrared beds while the agreement remains valid, limited to one session per day, with a maximum session length of 15 minutes.
The membership is personal, and the subscriber may not sell, rent, give away, or otherwise transfer the membership to a third party.

3. Term, Pricing and Payments

  • The monthly fee for the Infrared Membership is ISK 4,990, payable in advance.
  • The membership is open-ended and subject to a three-month notice period.
  • Paid membership fees are non-refundable.
  • The subscriber shall pay the agreed monthly fee for as long as the agreement remains in force.
  • Sportsól ehf. reserves the right to change the monthly fee with notice published on www.sportsol.is. Any price changes will not take effect during the notice period.

Sportsól ehf. may verify whether the subscriber is listed in the Creditinfo default register. If the subscriber is listed, Sportsól ehf. may terminate the agreement or reject a new application.

The subscriber authorizes Sportsól ehf. to request registration with the Creditinfo default register if overdue payments have remained unpaid for at least 60 days, provided that other legal requirements are met.

4. Equipment

Sportsól ehf. owns the infrared beds, and subscribers are responsible for using the equipment properly and following all instructions.

5. Non-Payment and Membership Suspension

If the subscriber stops paying the membership fee, Sportsól ehf. may suspend access to the infrared beds.
However, the subscriber remains responsible for paying all agreed fees during the notice period, in addition to any collection costs incurred.

Upon termination of the agreement or expiration of the notice period, the membership will automatically be closed and cease to be valid.

6. Changes and Cancellation

Cancellation requests must be submitted with three (3) months' notice and must be received before the 15th day of the month for the cancellation to take effect at the beginning of the following month. The agreement is open-ended and renews automatically unless written notice is sent to askrift@sportsol.is.

If the subscriber breaches these terms and conditions, Sportsól ehf. may, without notice, suspend access to the infrared beds and initiate collection procedures.

7. Collection

Collection of membership fees is handled by authorized collection agencies such as Borgun, Inkasso, or other entities appointed by Sportsól ehf.

8. Age Requirement and Identification

  • The minimum age for an Infrared Membership is 18 years.
  • Valid identification must be presented for each visit.
  • Facebook profiles or similar digital identities are not considered valid identification.

9. Third-Party Use Prohibited

Subscribers may not allow third parties to use the membership in any way, nor may they bring another person under their Infrared Membership.

10. Health and Safety

According to recommendations from the Icelandic Radiation Safety Authority, it is not recommended to use an infrared bed and a traditional tanning bed on the same day, as doing so may increase stress on the skin and cause irritation.
Use of infrared beds is not recommended for individuals under 18 years of age.

11. Changes to Terms and Conditions

Sportsól ehf. reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions. Changes will be announced to subscribers with at least one month's notice on the Sportsól website.

12. Privacy

Sportsól ehf. guarantees complete confidentiality regarding all information provided in connection with these services. Information will not be disclosed to third parties unless required by law.

13. Jurisdiction

Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the District Court of Reykjavík.
